If they will still have to wait until Tuesday March 19 before knowing the names of their opponents and the host city of their group, the sixteen nations which will compete in the group stage of the Davis Cup know a little more about their next destination.
Since this Thursday, the four cities which will host the competition have in fact been known. These are Valencia (Spain), Bologna (Italy), Manchester (United Kingdom) and… Zhuhai (China).
The latter, unlike the first three mentioned, will host the event for the very first time. But is already used to organizing events, the ATP 250 in Zhuhai being held there from September 18 to 24. “The location will suit the flow of players given the Asian tour which will follow the US Open,” underlines ITF President David Haggerty. The four cities will provide the ideal setting for a more intense and exciting Davis Cup, where the best players in the world will proudly represent their nation.”

As a reminder, in addition to Belgium, the qualified countries are the following: Italy, Australia, Great Britain, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia and United States .
This group stage will be held from September 10 to 15. The first two from each of the four groups will obtain their ticket for the Final 8 which will take place in Malaga from November 19 to 24.
