Club Brugge lost to STVV today. That defeat ultimately cost trainer Ronny Deila his head.
According to Pieter-Jan Calcoen of Het Nieuwsblad, the decision has been made. Ronny Deila is fired from Club Brugge after this season’s poor performance.
A successor has also reportedly already been appointed. Nicky Hayen from Club NXT would take over the team for the time being. He will finish the season during the playoffs.
Deila had been under fire for several weeks due to poor performance. Blauwzwart has a huge deficit to Union SG and was eliminated in the semi-finals of the Croky Cup, while it won the first leg.
The news has now also been confirmed by transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri. According to Tavolieri, Deila would not have been aware of this before this news leaked out. The news would be made official within 24 hours.
Hayen from Club NXT is named as his successor. Deila’s dismissal is not yet official, but it seems inevitable. See @nieuwsbladsport. https://t.co/F8279Z8wAU
