The combat sports association UFC has announced that it will remove Brazilian Igor Severino from the association. He crossed the line on his debut in a UFC fight gala in Las Vegas by biting the arm of his opponent, his compatriot Andre Lima. The referee immediately disqualified Severino.
In the second round of the cage fight, Lima suddenly screamed in pain. After a moment he raised his arm to show the bite mark. “We were fighting well, and at one point for some reason he decided to bite me. I felt a sharp pain,” Lima told reporters after the fight.

UFC President Dana White announced soon after the fight that Severino is no longer welcome by the association in the so-called mixed martial arts. “If you get frustrated and want to get out of the fight, there are plenty of ways to do that, but the worst thing you can do is bite your opponent,” said White, who doubled Lima’s win bonus to $50,000.
