Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz believes Alexander Zverev can win his longed-for first Grand Slam title. “Zverev has an incredible game, is without a doubt one of the best in the world at the moment, and I have no doubt that he will win a Grand Slam title,” said the 20-year-old Spaniard in an interview with Sport Bild.

For Alcaraz, the only question is “whether this year, next year or in the next three to four years.” Because “mentally and physically – and in terms of his tennis level – he has the quality to make it,” said the two-time Grand Slam champion.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz sees Zverev’s serious injury from the semi-finals of the French Open 2022 against Rafael Nadal as “painful for him and the tennis world”, after which the Olympic champion only slowly found his way back to top form. “He was at his peak performance and could have won the match against Rafa and Paris,” said Alcaraz: “He was very close to winning a Grand Slam, but sooner or later he will win one.”
