The Spanish tennis player Roberto Carballés will be Carlos Alcaraz’s first rival in the Miami tournament (United States), the second Masters 1,000 of the season, while the young Martín Landaluce managed to debut his professional locker at the cost of getting off his compatriot Jaume Munar and Roberto Bautista also entered the second round.
Carballés will play for the first time in his career against the player from Murcia after beating the Australian Aleksandar Vukic this Thursday, who in Indian Wells had put world number one Novak Djokovic in complications, in two sets by 7-6(2), 6 -3. Finally, the day was completed with another joy for the ‘Armada’, that of Roberto Bautista from Castellón, who entered the second round after beating the American Emilio Nava in two sets 6-3, 7-6(5). The Spaniard, qualified from the previous round, dominated the first round, while in the second he had to overcome an initial 3-0 deficit before closing his ticket in ‘sudden death’ for a round where he will face the American Sebastian Korda.
