The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome, in the constant fight against drug trafficking, carried out a series of checks in the central and peripheral districts of the City which led to the arrest, in agreement with the Rome Prosecutor’s Office, of 15 people with the seizure of hundreds of doses of narcotic substances.
Last afternoon, in Piazza Trilussa, the Carabinieri of the Rome Trastevere station arrested a 22-year-old of Moroccan origin, without a fixed abode and with a criminal record, together with a woman from Rome of
23 years old, found in possession of some doses of hashish substances.
During the search of the woman’s home, the police found further doses of narcotics, a precision scale and two baseball bats. Further arrests for possession and dealing of narcotic substances were carried out by the Carabinieri of the Tor Bella Monaca station, in via dell’Archeologia, where they arrested a 22-year-old from Rome caught while giving away some doses of cocaine. Two other Tunisians aged 18 and 22, following a check, were arrested because they were found by the Carabinieri in possession of 29 wraps of cocaine and 515 euros in banknotes of different denominations, believed to be the proceeds of illicit activity.
Furthermore, in via San Biagio Platani, the same Carabinieri arrested a 43-year-old woman, stopped red-handed while giving a dose of cocaine to a French citizen and once searched, she was found in possession of over 20 doses of cocaine, while the man was reported to the Prefecture as a drug user. The carabinieri of the Monte Sacro Company of Rome arrested a 43-year-old Roman man, found on board his car with
11 wraps of cocaine and over 700 euros in cash, while a 35-year-old was arrested in Viale Jonio by the Carabinieri of the Rome Città Giardino station, having been found driving his car with over 22 doses of cocaine and 400 euros in cash. In Via dei Pettinari, a 27-year-old Gambian citizen was caught together with three other unknown men, while trying to get rid of a wrapper containing over 8 grams of hashish but was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit.
At Ponte Sisto, however, a 28-year-old Egyptian was caught by the Rome Trastevere police while giving some doses of hashish to a Bangladeshi citizen in exchange for money. In the Garbatella district, the Carabinieri arrested a man and a woman red-handed because during a house search they were found in possession of several doses of cocaine and hashish, a knife and scissors with traces of hashish.
In the Esquilino district, however, the Carabinieri of the Rome Piazza Dante station arrested two Egyptian citizens caught in the act of committing a crime for dealing and possession for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances while they were offering and subsequently giving a transparent sachet containing a dose of drug to a Moldovan citizen. hashish in exchange for money.
