Carabinieri Crack Down on Drug Trafficking in Rome, Arresting 15 Individuals

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome, in the constant fight against drug trafficking, carried out a series of checks in the central and peripheral districts of the City which led to the arrest, in agreement with the Rome Prosecutor’s Office, of 15 people with the seizure of hundreds of doses of narcotic substances.

The carabinieri of the Monte Sacro Company of Rome arrested a 43-year-old Roman man, found on board his car with
11 wraps of cocaine and over 700 euros in cash, while a 35-year-old was arrested in Viale Jonio by the Carabinieri of the Rome Città Giardino station, having been found driving his car with over 22 doses of cocaine and 400 euros in cash. In Via dei Pettinari, a 27-year-old Gambian citizen was caught together with three other unknown men, while trying to get rid of a wrapper containing over 8 grams of hashish but was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit.

At Ponte Sisto, however, a 28-year-old Egyptian was caught by the Rome Trastevere police while giving some doses of hashish to a Bangladeshi citizen in exchange for money. In the Garbatella district, the Carabinieri arrested a man and a woman red-handed because during a house search they were found in possession of several doses of cocaine and hashish, a knife and scissors with traces of hashish.
