CASTELLAMONTE – Prestigious result in youth baseball for Canavese Baseball & Softball Asd, the Castellamontese team led by president Mauro Gaido, which showed the skill, determination and preparation of its boys during the finals of the sixteenth “Western League”.
The local club animated the final day of the winter trophy, capable of highlighting boys and girls aged between 8 and 12, an epilogue event which took place on the “Provini” pitch in Novara.
The group of Castellamontese athletes, followed by Simone Pallaro, Silvia Biasio, Laura Rizzo, Vittorio Besso and Cristiano Giovando in the role of coaches, was divided into two teams, one with greater experience, called Vipers, and one made up of rookies, characterized named after Foxes.
Excellent performance by the aforementioned Vipers team, who with a score of 3-2, and after a match that enthralled the large crowd present, got the better of Settimo, the outgoing champion team, thus making the trophy their own.
A result that gives maximum energy to the Canavese environment, which is now preparing to experience other important events. Over the weekend, for example, the Under 12 and Under 15 championships will begin: on Saturday the youngest will be busy on their home diamond against Settimo, while on Sunday morning the first of the two Castellamontese U15 teams, the one called Lynx, will also face it the seventh-year rivals. The other group, called Rookies, will make their debut on April 7th against Athletics Novara.
Finally, it is worth remembering that in June the pitch in Via del Ghiaro will be in the limelight of the specialty “Trofeo delle Regioni”, being one of the venues chosen by the Federation to host the 2024 edition of the event dedicated to both softball and baseball.
