Bundesliga Teams Shake Up Rosters with Player Changes Ahead of New Season

Bundesliga teams have made numerous player changes in the past few weeks

With a view to the start of the season on April 5th, the German baseball community is eagerly following the latest developments in the league. There have been some exciting player transfers in the last few weeks.

The reigning German champions from Heidenheim are getting prominent reinforcements: the experienced OF/IF David Dinski changes from the Guggenberg Legionnaires to the Heidekopfs. Head coach Klaus Eckle’s team will also be supported by RHP in the future Christoph Ehrichwho most recently played for the Stuttgart Reds.

LHP Ryan Bollinger returns to the Munich-Haar Disciples as a pitcher and pitching coach. The former AAA minor leaguer played in the Australian ABL for the Brisbane Bandits over the winter. Also new to the team Phildrick Llewellyn, who is moving from the Bonn Capitals to the Disciples. Another change is the departure of Lukas Bickel. The Austrian national player has joined the Hard Bulls (Baseball Bundesliga Austria).

The Bonn Capitals are experiencing a major upheaval: The baseball expert Stan Exeter – with 26 years of experience in US college baseball – will take over as head coach in the future. The reigning northern champion is strengthening his pitching staff Niklas Rimmelwho played in MiLB until last year, and Marcel Giraudwhich returns to the Bundesliga after a year in France Division-1. Josef Rosenthal, formerly of the Munich Hair Disciples, complete the list of new additions. Player-coach Wilson Lee and Lennart Weller However, they are ending their Bundesliga careers.

The Guggenberg Legionnaires rely on the talent of infielders Edoardo Cornelli, who comes from the Regensburg Academy and has already gained experience as a U18 national player in Italy. His predecessor Yodai Nakamura will not return to the Wild Farmers.

The Hamburg Stealers present two more new additions: outfielders Quin Cottonwhich played in the Netherlands and Canada in 2023, as well Ryuta Okadawho played for the Osaka Zeroroku Bulls in Japan last season.
