Bojan Krkic’s brand ‘Guava’ creates a bike inspired by Gino Bartali

MADRID, 26 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The gravel brand ‘Guava’, founded by the former FC Barcelona footballer Bojan Krkic, and the singer Oscar D’Aniello ‘Delafé’, from the band Delafé y las Flores Azules, have designed a bicycle inspired by the former Italian runner Gino Bartali, winner of two Tours and three Giros in the 1930s and 1940s.

The Barcelona gravel brand has joined forces with the El Masnou ambassador and singer to give this new bike an inspiring meaning. The artist was always on a bicycle. Since he was a child, he made this sport his best ally and when he lost his father he tried to rebel against grief by finding a refuge in cycling.

His pilgrimage to Italy to transport the ashes reinforced a lifelong relationship with the sport. Delafé and Guava’s new bicycle is born from the love of cycling and its ability to rebel against everything.

Oscar D’Aniello has dedicated this ‘freedom machine’ to the cyclist Gino Bartali, who during his training carried passports hidden in the frame of his bicycle to save Jews from the repression of the Nazi regime.

The new bicycle will go on sale and will collaborate with the NGO Bicycles Without Borders, which provides bicycles to students in remote areas in Senegal so that they can access educational centers safely and efficiently. The organization will donate a bicycle to these boys and girls for each Delafé ‘freedom machine’ sold.

Óscar D’Aniello has also told Bartali’s story through music, and has dedicated a song to the courage of an athlete who risked his life for those who tried to preserve theirs.
