The Praguers were close to winning after regular time, but at the end of the third period, at 2:1, they retreated too much, leaving the activity to the opponents, and the White Tigers equalized at 58:05 thanks to the kneeling Bulír’s run and sent the match to overtime.
“We were already hoping to prevent it. But I didn’t see Filippi’s hidden shot, Bulíř directed it into my counter movement. In addition, someone pushed me at that moment,” Kovář regretted that the puck went through the concrete and literally scurried past the goal line.

“We showed the character of never giving up. We believed until the last moment that we would equalize. We weren’t worse in the last ten minutes of the third period, not in overtime either. But the raids were not successful at all,” lamented Tomáš Filippi, the most productive player in the regular season of the extra league.
And Kovář was a hero after the raids. Despite this, he reported that the decision should be made in extra time. Not in the skill discipline. “Honestly, I hate raids in the playoffs. He simply doesn’t belong in the playoffs,” he stood his ground.
