As the psychopathic Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, he takes over several scenes in the sci-fi masterpiece “Dune: Part Two,” which is currently in theaters. At the same time, he also celebrated a major series success with the monumental spiritual “Band Of Brothers” successor “Masters Of The Air”. And thanks to his engaging performance as a music legend in “Elvis,” he already has an Oscar nomination under his belt. Austin Butler’s career is really taking off and bringing him together with more and more star directors.

After the 32-year-old has already appeared in front of the camera for such greats as Quentin Tarantino (“Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”), Baz Luhrmann (“Elvis”) and Denis Villeneuve (“Dune 2”), he will now be the cast of the new film by Darren Aronofsky, which, thanks to magnificent, profound works such as “Requiem For A Dream”, “The Wrestler”, “Black Swan” and most recently “The Whale”, stands above all for gut-wrenching dramas.

Austin Butler and Darren Aronofsky will now produce the crime thriller “Caught Stealing” together. This is reported by the US industry newspaper Deadline.

This is Austin Butler’s new project “Caught Stealing”

“Caught Stealing” is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Charlie Huston, which was published in this country under the title “The Whipping Boy”. Austin Butler will take on the role of the washed-up baseball player Hank Thompson, who is at his best Days long behind him and finds himself in a brutal fight for survival in the criminal underworld of New York in the 90s.

It is still unclear when “Caught Stealing” will be released. However, it sounds like Darren Aronofsky is choosing the film over other projects he has recently been linked to (including an Elon Musk biopic). Filming could possibly take place in 2024 and a theatrical release could follow in 2025.

Meanwhile, Austin Butler can be seen in a new film in cinemas from June 20, 2024. Under the direction of “Midnight Special” maker Jeff Nichols, he gets on a motorcycle alongside Tom Hardy in the biker gang drama “The Bikeriders”. He is also part of the illustrious cast of “Eddington,” the mysterious new project from “Hereditary” and “Midsommar” director Ari Aster, alongside stars like Emma Stone, Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal.
