The judokas from Alcañiza Benjamin and Alevín category returned last weekend with up to seven perseas from the Zaragoza provincial championship disputed in Monzalbarba. Thus, the seven Alcañiz Judo athletes in the running won a medal in a provincial-level competition that they compete with neighboring Zaragoza since the Bajo Aragonese club is the only club from Teruel currently competing.
In the first instance, on Saturday it was the turn of Elena González, Tristán Lorén and Valeria Gálvez who achieved gold medals in the youngest category and in their respective categories. “We must regret an injury to Elena González, but she still came first,” they explain from the Alcañiz team.
In turn, on Sunday the fry participated: Lucía Baranda, Adriana Giner, Doha Sibaghi and Adam El Gherbi. They added one silver and three bronzes in their respective weights.
It should be noted that a few years ago the Teruel Judo Club existed but after the pandemic it has disappeared. While it was in competition, Judo Alcañiz competed in the provincial competition with Teruel, alternating between the city of Concordia and the provincial capital as its headquarters. For the moment, and in the absence of rivals, Alcañiz competes with Zaragoza.
