Agen Baseball Club Makes Impressive Debut in Regional 3 Championship

In its group, eight other clubs from Nouvelle-Aquitaine: the Drosers de Montendre (17), the Razorbacks de Brive agreement (19) – Angels de Périgueux (24), the Panthères de Pessac (33), the Echassiers du Porge (33), the Corsairs of Andernos (33), the Dragons of Niort (79), the Scorpions of Campet-et-Lamolère (40), the Pumas of Pau (64). For its year of creation, the BCA will play all its matches away. And, to date, has participated in two days.

First on Sunday March 10, the Agenais went to Montendre to play the first two matches in its history. The preparation was short, with training starting in mid-February, but the young team was able to be there despite the complicated weather. Facing the locals first, who had fielded a D2 level “battery” (pitcher and receiver), the match was very close. The Agenais even led first thanks to Noah Reix, young U18 player, who produced the BCA’s only point, and kept the opponent at bay on the mound the entire match. In the second match of the day, the BCA faced the Razorbacks of Brive and the Angels of Périgueux, in epic playing conditions (heavy rain). Despite the good work of Aurélien Aupée on the mound, the BCA lost by a small point: 8 to 7.

The following Sunday, direction Pau for the Agenais, and this time under the sun. Against Andernos, the Lot-et-Garonnais dominated to claim their first victory (14-9). It was Aurélien Aupée who signed this first “win” in the club’s history on the mound, relieved by Jérémy Krentner. Note another home run for Salim Krentner and a good performance from the whole team at bat. For the second meeting against the locals, the BCA will be even more dominant. Young pitcher Noah Reix will last his entire match and will not concede any points. The Agen attack, more and more regular, will allow a solid second victory with a score of 14 to 0.

In fact, after two days of the championship (9 remaining), the BCA is 2nd in the ranking behind Montendre. This Sunday, March 24, they will go to Pessac to meet the Corsairs of Andernos and the local Panthers team.
