Young French Archers Shine in National and International Competitions

The French archery championships took place in Grenoble last weekend. The young Elisa Laurent, a graduate of the Première Compagnie de Châteauroux and regional champion in her category, was aiming for the podium. She ultimately finished in fifth position. It all came down to a shoot-off arrow in the quarter-final. At the same time Rémi Collin, a young Castelroussin trained at the Châteauroux club, cut his teeth as coach of the French archery team in Croatia, in Varadzin, for the European indoor shooting championships. . This competition was crowned with success for him with 4 medals: 1 silver and 3 bronze.

Rémi Collin took his first license in September 2009 within the Première Compagne then, in 2013, joined the France division in Bordeaux. He was then recruited by the Federation in 2020 as an assistant coach at INSEP, until 2022, before being appointed as coach of the France pole in Nancy until 2023.

In 2021, he was also part of the Olympic archers coaching staff for Tokyo. The last two years, he prepared and took care of the equipment for the archers who will compete in the Paris Olympics.
