Markus Weil from Zuffenhausen came to baseball by chance and played for the Stuttgart Reds for a long time. He later trained all of his children at Schnarrenberg and celebrated great successes with them – even if the dishwasher wasn’t emptied.

It has been clear for a few months that baseball and softball will be back in the program at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Then also with the sisters Jennifer and Jessica Weil from Zuffenhausen? “If we could both be part of it, that would be great,” says Jennifer, the older one. The 22-year-old has been playing for the German national team for a long time, and her sister, who is five years younger than her, is allowed to travel with her for the first time this month to a course run by the national elite – to Madrid. This won’t be the first time that the two Weils are on the field together. They once played for the Stuttgart Reds in Bad Cannstatt in the Bundesliga.
