Born August 11, 1953, Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Eugene Bollea, is a wrestler and actor. Passionate about singing, his physical abilities point him towards a sporting future. In high school, he was selected as a pitcher on the baseball team and then was admitted to the University of South Florida to showcase his athletic skills. At the same time, Terry Bollea is trying to make a name for himself on the music scene. He notably performs in different rock groups as a bassist. Bored with university, Terry locks himself into music and the gym where he meets wrestlers Jerry and Jack Brisco. He joined the Championship Wrestling from Florida wrestling school and was trained by Hiro Matsuda.
In 1976, he signed his first professional contract with the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) and became Hulk Hogan. His character seduces crowds with the patriotic and loyal values he defends. In 1982, the wrestler’s career took a new turn when he appeared in Rocky III, after Sylvester Stallone requested it. Vince McMahon, Sr., director of the WWF not agreeing with this decision, Hulk Hogan decided to leave the federation to launch with the AWA (American Wrestling Association).
After appearances in Japan, he returned to the WWF under a new contract. During his career, Hulk Hogan won, among other things, the world champion title thirteen times and the WWF world heavyweight champion six times. The latter also distinguished himself in the cinema with roles in Thunder in Paradise (1993), Mr. Nanny (1994) or Le McKinsey Treasure (1998). In 1986, he also hosted his own show on CBS, Hulk Hogan’s Rock ’n’ Wrestling.
His image as a wrestler is tarnished by the doping affair in which he is involved. Accused of taking steroids, he left the rings for a few months before making his comeback in 1994.
On the private side, he married Linda in 1983 before divorcing in 2007. The couple had two children Brooke, born in 1988 and Nick, born in 1990. Hulk Hogan found love again with Jennifer McDaniel in 2010. They separated in 2021. In 2023, the wrestler remarried to Sky Daily.
