WEST LAFAYETTE − Purdue football is awaiting word on junior college receiver Leland Smith.
The 6-foot-5, three-star receiver, per 247Sports, would be an additional boost for the Boilermaker offense.
Smith is expected to be Purdue football’s only signee during national signing day, but also listed Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina and Temple among his finalists.
As a freshman at Fullerton Community College last fall, Smith caught 26 passes for 655 yards and 9 touchdowns.
He’d add to a 25-player class second-year head coach Ryan Walters and his staff locked up during the early signing period in December.
