Heading towards the 2024 Universiade, the Maximum House of Studies of Oaxaca is in the preparation period, as announced in an interview by teacher Carlos Alberto Navarro Tomás, Director of Physical Culture and Sports.
He explained that the venues were defined in the state stage, scheduled for March 8 to 17, which will start at the Technological Institute of Oaxaca (ITO) and the athletics, judo, softball, and boxing competitions will be held at the UABJO. university, among others.
Meanwhile, he announced that the regional phase will take place in Xalapa, Veracruz, and the national phase in Aguascalientes.
In this context, he commented that the corresponding arrangements are being made with the Rector’s Office headed by CP Cristian Eder Carreño López, with a view to supporting the representative groups of the different disciplines that will participate, since due to the budgetary situation of the National Sports Council of Education (Condde), it has been determined that the institutions and/or the athletes would have to cover their travel, lodging and food expenses.
Derived from the above, the head of the Directorate of Physical Culture and Sports of this House of Studies, held a meeting with the Rector, CP Cristian Eder Carreño López, to request support towards participation in this sports event, in relation to membership, uniforms, credentials and other expenses to cover.
He added that a high participation of the UABJO university selections is expected, since the previous year the classification of 13 disciplines was achieved, when the maximum that had been achieved in previous years was 8.
With these results, the UABJO managed to place itself among the 16 best in the country, and at a regional level where there are 27 institutions, it was ranked among the 7 best.
For this reason, there are high expectations for the 2024 Universiade, and in this sense, the invitation was extended to the student community to join and participate in the sports competitions that are promoted in their different phases and stages.
