Prato Academy Shines at Alpe Adria Judo Trophy with Two Bronze Medals

Prato, 6 February 2024 – Two medals arrived in a national level competition, which bode well for the future. It is the loot with which the Prato Academy returned from Lignano Sabbiadoro, where the 2024 edition of the “Alpe Adria Judo Trophy” took place in recent days. An event aimed at judokas of the “junior” and “cadet” categories, which sees the best prospects of the discipline from all over Italy compete on the tatami every year. And the Prato contingent did well overall, obtaining two bronze medals. The first was won by Alex Carta in the “-81 kg” category, after defeating five opponents in sequence. And the second was the prerogative of Sofia Kubler, who climbed to the lowest step of the podium in the “+78 kg” category. Tommaso D’ Addona, Rachele Bargelli, Andrea Bocchicchio, Lorenzo Coviello, Mirko Calzolari, Alessandro Bellini and Nikita Catani also took part in the Friulian trip with good results. For the partnership led by coach Fabio Barni, this is a confirmation in terms of performance, after the Italian Serie A2 titles won last year with both the men’s and women’s teams. Only last month, Anita Cantini won a gold medal in Paris. And the objective for the Academy remains to confirm itself at the national top, also for the next releases.
