Pittsburgh Steelers Release Quarterback Mitch Trubisky and Two Others

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially announced that they have released quarterback Mitch Trubisky from their team on Monday.

The second overall pick in the 2017 draft will therefore be on his fourth team. He has worn the colors of the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills and Steelers the last two years.

According to the network’s Mike Garafolo NFL Networkthe two clans would have mutually made the decision to end their association.

Trubisky had two years left on his contract with the team, but he was out of guaranteed money and was set to receive a $1 million bonus in March, which explains his release.

In 12 games with the Steelers, the 29-year-old quarterback will have compiled a total of 1,884 passing yards in addition to scoring eight touchdowns through the air as well as ten interceptions.

Pittsburgh has also decided to get rid of kicker Pressley Harvin III and blocker Chukwuma Okorafor.

The NFL free agent market will officially open on March 13. However, teams will be able to contact free agent players starting March 11.
