Philadelphia 76ers Star Joel Embiid Sidelined with Left Knee Injury

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid will not be in uniform Thursday against the Utah Jazz due to an injury to his left knee.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has also indicated that the center should return to Philadelphia to undergo further examinations. He suffered the injury Tuesday in a 119-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

There was just over four minutes left in the game when Embiid lost the ball and fell while trying to recover it. Jonathan Kuminga, however, fell on his knee which resulted in the injury. The Sixers player was able to get up, but he struggled to get to the locker room.

It was a return to action for Embiid who had missed the previous two games with soreness in the same knee. He was limited to 34 games this season with the 76ers. He presents impressive statistics with an average of 35.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
