Ostapenko Falls in Dubai Tournament, Semenistaja Slips in WTA Rankings

Last week, Ostapenko competed in the Dubai “WTA 1000” tournament, where she failed in the round of 16.

On the other hand, Darja Semenistaja has lost four places and is in 115th position. Diana Marcinkeviča has also slipped by one position to 312th place, Daniela Wismane (384th) has regained two places, Anastasija Sevastova is three places lower (485th), Kamilla Barton (752nd) and Margarita Ignatieva (1140th) have moved up by two places, Valerija Kargina slipped by three positions (1175th), while Anna Ozerova (1293th) is one position higher than a week ago.

There are no changes in the top six of the ranking and the first is still the Polish Iga Šviontek, followed by the Belarusian Arina Sabalenka and the American Cory Goff, the fourth is Yelena Rybakina from Kazakhstan, the fifth is the American Jessica Pegula, the sixth is the Tunisian Onsa Jabert. The Czech Marketa Vondrousova has moved up to the seventh place, the Chinese Jen Qinwen has moved up to the eighth position, the Greek Maria Sakari has climbed two places to the ninth position, while Ostapenko completes the top ten.

In the doubles ranking, Ostapenko has lost three places and is in 23rd place, while Semenistaja has fallen four places and is in 161st place, Wismane is four places higher (169th), Marcinkeviča has regained one position (224th), Barton is four places higher (504th), Ignatieva is five positions lower (712th), Ozerova has moved up one place (1115th), while Kargina (1427th) and Marija Semenistaya (1523rd) are seven and eight positions lower, respectively.

The doubles leader is Elise Mertens of Belgium, followed by Taiwan’s Suwei Xie and Australia’s Storm Hunter.
