Brescia. It opens on Saturday 3 February new headquarters of the Arcieri Bresciani Amateur Sports Association in via del Mella 3 in Fornaci.
The structure, a two-storey building with a surface area of approximately 550 m2 and an appurtenant area of approximately 510 m2, had been abandoned for some time and had previously been used as the headquarters of an association.
The new center, which features an indoor archery gym currently unique in the Brescia area, it will be available to anyone who intends to approach this sporting practice and will be able to accommodate disabled people.
On the occasion of the inauguration, from 2pm to 4.30pm on Saturday, it will be possible to participate in gaming activities, putting your archery skills into practice and experimenting with a new approach to this discipline. After an initial qualifying phase with the accumulation of points, a play-off between the best will follow at 4.30 pm, with a final prize. The initiative is open to everyone: members, supporters, families, friends and anyone who wishes to get closer to this sport.
The property in via del Mella 3, owned by the municipality, has been granted in April 2022 to the Arcieri Bresciani Amateur Sports Association, for a period of twenty years, through a valorization concession. The building was acquired by the Municipality in 2015 as part of the so-called “State Federalism” (Legislative Decree 85 of 2010), which provides for the identification of state assets that can be attributed to Municipalities, Provinces, Metropolitan Cities and Regions .
By committing to correspond to the Municipality of Brescia a annual fee of 5,560 euros, the Arcieri Bresciani Amateur Sports Association carried out works worth over 60 thousand euros thanks to which, in addition to the gym, a multimedia room was built, the electrical system was brought up to standard, a new heating system was installed and an external fire escape staircase was built.
The association will hold courses for beginners and will continue the “Civically young” project (which involves the Carabinieri, the Fire Brigade, the Italian Army and other bodies), aimed at secondary school children. During the summer, the Association will continue its collaboration with the parish of Fornaci and will host refresher courses to train archery technicians.
