Kylian Mbappé Invited to Elysée Amid Speculation of PSG Departure

His departure from PSG seems confirmed. However, Kylian Mbappé is invited to the Elysée this Tuesday in the presence of the Emir of Qatar.

Kylian Mbappé is expected to leave PSG this summer, after seven years with the capital club. The Parisian management, willingly or unwillingly, took note of this. And already Real Madrid seems to be preparing to welcome the captain of the Blues. It is in this very particular context that the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron sent the person concerned an invitation for a dinner at the Elysée.

This Tuesday evening, Kylian Mbappé is invited to the presidential palace, for an official dinner which will also bring together the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, and the Emir of Qatar Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani, who is currently participating in Paris in talks for a truce between Israel and Hamas. A timing which can be of concern when Emmanuel Macron has never hidden his wish to see the prodigy further extend his adventure in France.

“It’s not easy to receive a call from the President of the Republic”

Last summer, when questioned by a young supporter who wondered about the possible extension of Kylian Mbappé’s contract at PSG, the head of state replied: “ I don’t have any scoop but I’ll try to push for… » A year earlier, Real Madrid had clearly suggested that President Macron had interfered in the career choice of the French star, denouncing “ political and economic pressures ». « It’s not easy to receive a call from the President of the Republic », had notably whispered the boss of the White House Florentino Perez.

In February 2018, Kylian Mbappé had already received such an invitation from the Elysée. As part of an official dinner in the presence of Didier Drogba and George Weah, then newly elected president of Liberia. The discussion included the development of sports infrastructure in Africa.
