Kyle Lowry Agrees to Contract Buyout with Hornets to Join Philadelphia 76ers

Veteran point guard Kyle Lowry has agreed to have his contract bought out by the Charlotte Hornets in order to join the Philadelphia 76ers.

According to network tipster Adrian Wojnarowski ESPNLowry will complete the 2023-2024 season with Philadelphia, after his name was submitted to waivers.

The 37-year-old athlete will then join the Sixers roster as part of an agreement that will worth him $2.8 million.

After eight and a half seasons in a Toronto Raptors uniform, Lowry moved to the Miami Heat in 2021.

He will therefore join head coach Nick Nurse, with whom he won great honors, in the summer of 2019.

He played in 37 games for Miami this year, including 35 as a starter, averaging 8.2 points, 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds, with a usage of 28 minutes per game.

Lowry has not played since being traded to the Hornets on January 24. His last participation in a match dates back to January 21.
