Isaiah Livers’ NBA Journey Plagued by Injuries: Washington Wizards Rule Out Season Return Until 2024-25

Bad luck continues to press on young Isaiah Livers. Living his third year in the NBA, the 25-year-old player counts them all through injuries and recovery processes; So much so that the Washington Wizards have made it official that he will not play again until the 2024-25 season due to inflammation of the joint capsule in his right hip.

Livers, who came to the Wizards from the Detroit Pistons in a closed trade in mid-January that also included Marvin Bagley III, has been constantly hit by physical problems. In his rookie year he was only able to play 19 games due to a foot injury from his college career at Michigan. Last year, 2022-23, he reached 52 games, missing up to 20 due to a sprained right shoulder. At present the count has remained at 23. We are talking about that in three years he has played a total of 94…

Sticking to the current season, Livers started six nights with Detroit and ended up posting an average of 5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 20.4 minutes. First a sprained ankle and later the hip problem have slowed him down.

As far as his future is concerned, Livers could find himself without a team starting next summer. If the Wizards extend him the qualifying offer worth $2.3 million, he will be a restricted free agent. Otherwise he will have complete freedom to negotiate his future.
