Franger Pirela goes against Colombia in Medellín

Venezuela will face Colombia tonight in the second match of the Americup 2025 Qualifiers with only one modification to its roster, the entry of Franger Pirela.

Franger Pirela, who became the 243rd Venezuelan to debut with the national team in the 2023 Pan American Games, will enter the call to replace the person who precisely followed him on that list of debutants with the Vinotinto de las Altos, Yeferson Guerra.

Venezuela defeated Colombia 79-60 last Thursday at the José María Vargas Dome in La Guaira. In that game Yeferson Guerra made his debut with the national team playing 4:30 minutes, scoring a point and stealing a ball.

At the beginning of this year he left the team and moved to Club La Matanza of the EBA League (Spain’s fourth division). With Matanza he has played four games, leaving averages of 14.5 points, 3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2 steals.

Venezuela will return the visit to Colombia this Sunday at the Ivan de Bedout Coliseum in Medellín. Those led by Daniel Seoane will seek to add another victory that brings them closer to Americup 2025.
