A new life role awaits two former Czech athletes. Biathlete Tomáš Krupčík and his partner Jana Mrákotová, who used to ski jump, announced the big news on social networks that they are expecting a baby.

The happy couple immediately received many congratulations and nice messages. “Gee, congratulations,” biathlete Tereza Voborníková sent a message to Mrákotová and Krupčík. And former competitor Eva Puskarčíková, who is also expecting a baby, also joined.

Krupčík was a permanent member of the Czech biathlon team for several years. At the European Championships in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna, Italy in 2018, he won silver in the endurance race, three years earlier he brought two medals from the Universiade in Trento, where he took silver in the mass start race and bronze in the mixed relay.

In the World Cup races, the native of Jablonec nad Nisou was 12th individually best, namely in the endurance race in Canmore in the 2018/2019 season. He achieved the best result in the SP in the relay. This was the 4th place in the Oberhof in the same season. He also participated in two races at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and three World Championships.

Twenty-four-year-old Mrákotová achieved a valuable metal in ski jumping during the European Youth Olympic Festival, where she took bronze in the mixed team competition. Like her partner, she ended her career in 2022.

Krupčík also met Gabriela Soukalová in the national team, who shot the film and admitted that she misses biathlon:
