REPORTAGE – Scheduled for badminton and rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympics, the Adidas Arena officially opened its doors on Sunday, during a basketball match between Paris Basketball and Saint-Quentin.
The big night. Five and a half years after the creation of the club, Paris Basketball officially took possession of its new venue, the Adidas Arena, inaugurated on Sunday for a French championship match against Saint-Quentin. “Super-excited! And relieved that it’s finally happening. Surreal! It will allow the club to reach a whole new level.”recently enjoyed the president of the club, David Kahn, for Le Figaro. «We are entering a new era,” swears the sports director, Amara Sy.
It must be said that the club, born from the ashes of Hyères-Toulon in 2018, has evolved since its creation in the aging Halle Carpentier (13th century). “What’s changing? It would be quicker to ask what doesn’t change (laughs)”, laughs Parisian interior designer Michael Kessens. Financed by the Paris City Hall, the Adidas Arena is as gleaming as “totally adapted to basketball”, as Sy points out. Designed for the 2024 Olympics, with badminton and rhythmic gymnastics events…
