Empower Yourself: Yoga and Self-Defense Course for Women by Women

This year, the Schiefbahn Judo Club is offering its yoga and self-defense course by women for women for the third time on International Women’s Day. It will take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 9th and 10th, in the Kulturhalle in Schiefbahn.

“On the first day, the participants practice authentic Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. In this way, they will be introduced to the diversity of the world of yoga and experience the different effects of these yoga styles on their body, mind and soul,” the invitation says. The participants are guided through the day by full-time yoga teacher Meike Nachtwey, editor of the yoga classic “How Yoga Makes Us Happy”. She is supported by Daniela Töller, organizer of the charity event and certified, long-standing yoga teacher at the Schiefbahn Judo Club.

The second day has the motto of self-defense for women. The basics of efficient self-defense are developed together. The training concept of Daniela Töller, 1st Dan Taekwondo Defense, guarantees that this can be learned with a lot of joy and fun in movement.

“The way women can be introduced to modern self-defense differs in methodology from the way men are introduced to the topic through their socialization. And the method decides whether movements are just learned or really integrated into your own movement pattern,” says Daniela Töller. In this way, a technology becomes a natural movement sequence, which then “no longer differs from walking, sitting or running.” The proceeds from the event go to the women’s shelter in Viersen and to the Willich Child Protection Association.

If you want to take part on both days, you pay 50 euros; participation on the first day costs 45 euros and participation on the second day costs 15 euros. Information and registration from Daniela Töller on 0177 7476418 or by email at [email protected].
