Enthusiastic about the results achieved since he started practicing the Paralympic sport of archery, Gorizia Novello – thirty-year-old from Paola resident in Fuscaldo – it will soon be viewed by the experts of the Italian national teamwho invited her to participate in the blue rally for the next month of December.
Regional indoor champion in the 18 meter class and overallthe young girl is following a roadmap that places her career on the rise, a path made up of placings and podiums, which could not escape the attention of the Italian observers.
Become paraplegic due to a bad car accident in 2018Gorizia Anna Novello did not lose heart and, thanks to the experiences she had during the rehabilitation phase carried out at the renowned Romagna institute of Montecatone in 2019, she found an alternative way to express her brightness in sport.
«The strength I brought out I didn’t even actually know I had», said the thirty-year-old shortly before shooting the arrow that started one of her daily workouts. «With the accident I learned to know myself – continues the Paralympic champion – I have learned to understand who the real Gorizia is. I brought up a person who I thought didn’t exist and I have to say I was very lucky in my bad luckbecause now I live a better life if we want to be honest, because I see the world with different eyes.”
Gorizia Novello then revealed the steps that led her to choose the archery discipline, preferred to others because, as she herself revealed: «it was love at first shot».
«I tried many sports – said the young archer – fencing, basketball and then archery. Regarding the gathering in vision with the national team, with the technicians Ezio Luisetto and Alessandra Mosci, I must say that it was an indescribable emotion to be part of this project. Learning new things is always good and we hope to be able to achieve these dreams and goals».
