Let’s go for the 32nd finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Doha. In this match, the Czech Barbora Krejcikova faces the Russian Anastasia Potapova. Barbora Krejcikova is the 9th seed in this tournament which is starting. In this 2024 season, the Czech has had 4 consecutive victories at the Grand Slam of the Australian Open and has therefore managed to reach the quarter-finals of this major tournament. She finally lost to world number 2 Aryna Sabalenka in a 2-set match. Victorious in her first round in Abu Dhabi a few days ago against the Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the Czech was stopped by top 15 player Liudmila Samsonova in a fairly close match lasting almost 2 hours. She should therefore be motivated enough to return to victory after this narrow defeat in the previous tournament. For her part, Anastasia Potapova has not done better than 2 consecutive victories at the start of the season. She was a quarter-finalist in Brisbane in early January but was forced to retire mid-match as she lost the first set. The one who did not go beyond the first round of the Australian Open, stopped by the 108th in the world, Kaja Juvan, managed once again to reach the quarter-finals of the Linz tournament but lost to the top 20 Ekaterina Alexandrova without managing to win a set.
