Belle-Isle Gymnasium in Châteauroux to Host Regional Indoor Archery Championships

The Belle-Isle gymnasium in Châteauroux will establish itself as a benchmark for aiming aces at the regional level for a weekend. Thus, the regional indoor archery championships take place on Saturday February 10 and Sunday February 11. The appointment is made between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to admire the 250 best archers in the region as they conquer the title of Centre-Val de Loire champion.

The qualifying phases will take place in the mornings, while the afternoons will be devoted to duels by direct elimination, a format that always provides a great spectacle. Especially since all categories will be represented: recurve bow, compound bow or bare bow.

26 Indians engaged

Obviously present at the event, the local club of the First Company will come forward with five athletes and with the ambition to glean “a few podiums”. Patrick Viel, Virginie Branson, Louis Moreau, Eric Bouchlarem and Elisa Laurent will wear the Castelroussines colors.

The latter, currently ranked at the top of the regional ranking and No. 4 French, will make her debut at this level before going to play in the big leagues, at the French championship in Grenoble from February 23 to 25.

The Indre department will also be represented by other archers from Cluis, Levroux, Argenton, Issoudun and Buzançais. This brings the total to 20 adults and six young people, or 10% of the participants. New proof of good health for the discipline, which currently has 311 licensees, an absolute record since the creation of the committee with an increase of 12% this year.

Saturday February 10 and Sunday February 11 at the Belle-Isle gymnasium. Free admission.
