Bayern Munich has extended its winning streak in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and responded to the disappointing home defeat in the EuroLeague. The Munich team defeated bottom team Hakro Merlin Crailsheim with 98:81 (52:38), Carsen Edwards was the top scorer with 23 points. The cup winners now have nine wins in a row in the BBL.

Coach Pablo Laso’s team impressed particularly in the second quarter (31:11) and rehabilitated themselves from the audience for their previous performance: On Friday evening against EuroLeague bottom team ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, the injury-plagued Bayern lost 64:76 in their own hall.

Alba Berlin did not take advantage of master ratiopharm Ulm’s mistake on Saturday and lost in a thriller at the Würzburg Baskets with 75:76 (37:39). Darius Perry hit the decisive free throws for the hosts with four seconds left.

Instead of taking third place from the Ulm team, the Albatrosses now had to give up their fourth place in the table to Würzburg. Zachary Seljaas and Otis Livingston II led the Baskets to victory with 21 points. Sterling Brown (21) was convincing for Alba, but he missed the last throw.
