The match as a spectacle and not just competition on the parquet. This is what Basketball Club Lucca will organize in view of the second phase of the interregional “B”, from 3 March to 21 April. The various initiatives were presented in a press conference (photo) by president Matteo Benigni, vice Ugo Donato, sports director and vice president Umberto Vangelisti and Guglielmo Menchetti, president of “Bcl Lab”. As we widely anticipated, eight teams, four from the Lombardy-Piedmontese “division”, classified, as in Tuscany, from fifth to eighth place. Each team will carry with them the points obtained in the direct clashes with the other teams that progressed to the second phase of our same group; so Bcl will start with 8 points, together with Quarrata and Tortona; La Spezia, Gallarate and Borgomanero 6, Varese 4; Arezzo 2. At the end of this phase, the first two classified will enter the play-off phase for access to the national “B”.
If the red and whites had beaten San Miniato in the last round of the regular season, they would have passed as fourth, rather than sixth, qualifying for the “Play-offs in Gold” which includes six out of eight franchises admitted to the play-offs for the national “B”.
“Having achieved the important result in the first phase of the championship which confirms us as a team also present for next year in the interregional “B” series – explained the managers – means having fully achieved the objective we set ourselves at the beginning of the year “.
For this second phase, Bcl has decided to offer a mini-season ticket, at a very advantageous price, for the four matches that will be played at the “Palatagliate”. The mini-subscription will, in fact, be put on sale at the symbolic price of 20 euros. Anyone who had already purchased a season ticket at the beginning of the season will have included in this season ticket the right to access the sports hall to watch the four matches of this phase. Continuing its commitment to collaboration with institutions, bodies and associations that operate in the Lucca area with various socially useful purposes, the Bcl will involve associations or bodies in each of the four home matches of this phase, to give them greater visibility and to present and promote their activity and the important work that they carry out in the current social fabric.
Finally, the entertainment part to make the match a family event. In addition to the games, which will obviously be offered during the interval (such as the impossible basket from mid-court or even on the other side of the court), each match will be animated by musical entertainment with DJ Sharon-oops and prepared choreographies from the Atmosfera Danza school, already known during the championship.
The desire is to enrich the offer. The company hopes that the “Play-offs in Silver” challenges will be attended by the public on special occasions.
