Alexandre Sarr: Rising Star of the 2024 NBA Draft

Alongside Zaccharie Risacher, Alexandre Sarr is another Frenchman who is one of the favorites to be selected very high in the 2024 NBA Draft. And his last regular season performance, in the NBL championship, only confirmed this.

Returning from injury at the end of January, Alexandre Sarr did not take much time to get back into shape.

After a performance of 18 points and 5 blocks then a double-double on February 10 (14 points, 12 rebounds), the French nugget completed its regular season with a busy match in Tasmania: 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists , 2 blocks, 1 interception in just 21 minutes. Suffice to say that the boy was rather productive.

His talent for protecting the circle, his great mobility for a 2m16 interior, his ability to carry the ball, his finishing and even passing qualities were once again at work, all in front of the NBA scouts who came in numbers to observe it. Enough to solidify his place among the most promising and intriguing prospects of his draft class.

A significant audience of NBA executives in Tasmania came to watch Alex Sarr in Perth’s regular season finale. 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks in 21 minutes for the projected No. 2 pick. pic.twitter.com/n0aduxILQf

Alexandre Sarr is gaining momentum at the best time if he wants to be called among the first by NBA boss Adam Silver in a few months. But for that, he will especially have to show his best face during the NBL Playoffs, which will begin on February 28.

As a reminder, Alex Sarr plays for the Perth Wildcats, the second best regular season team this year. The French interior is already assured of playing in the semi-finals of the Playoffs*, and more if they like. A title would crown a great campaign for the Frenchie, who also finished on the podium of the Next Generation Award, a trophy which rewards the best NBL players under 25 years old.

*the Top 2 of NBL are directly qualified for the last four, teams 3-6 compete for the last two places in a play-in type tournament.
