After the surprising defeat at the start of the quarter-final playoffs in the BBL, Bayern Munich struck back in game two against Ludwigsburg. The Munich team won 83:67 (43:33) in their home dome on Monday (May 20, 2024) and tied the best-of-five series at 1:1. Defending champion Ulm made it even clearer against Würzburg, winning by almost 40 points.

Preliminary round winners Munich took revenge for the surprising 98:102 defeat on Friday with this clear victory. Game three will take place on Wednesday (from 6:30 p.m. in the live center of sportschau.de) in Ludwigsburg.

Playoffs, quarterfinals arrow right

Munich’s best thrower was Carsen Edwards with 21 points ahead of ex-NBA pros Isaac Bonga (18) and Serge Ibaka (15). Ludwigsburg, which had a weak hit rate of 34.5 percent, had its most successful scorer in Silas Melson (20 points).

Ulm celebrates a landslide win against Würzburg

Defending champion Ulm was also able to even up its series against Würzburg to 1:1. Ulm taught the guests a lesson with a 100:64 (50:39). After an even first quarter, in which the Baskets even took the lead at first, the hosts pulled away in the second quarter – also because Würzburg showed weaknesses in defense and finishing without its injured main round MVP Otis Livingston II.

Pacome Dadiet (r.) celebrated a clear success with Ulm.

After a 26:11 for the champions in the third round, the game was decided. During the timeouts, coach Saso Filipovksi tried to get the Würzburg Baskets back on track. But there was nothing to gain for his team that day.

LJ Figueroa was the most successful thrower for Ulm with 21 points, Isaiah Washington and Zachery Seljaas each contributed 14 points for Würzburg. On Wednesday the teams will meet in Würzburg for the third game (from 8.30 p.m. in the sportschau.de live center)
