Petra Vlhová’s ride in the giant slalom in Slovakia’s Jasná ended with a fall after just a few goals. Unfortunately, the Slovak skier was not able to leave the slope on her own and had to be carried away on a stretcher with her injuries.

Vlhová started on home soil at the World Cup in Jasná in the giant slalom as the fourth competitor. Brignonová didn’t finish first and neither did the Slovak.

Already at the top of the slope, her skis slipped on the icy slope, and in an attempt to hit the next goal, she rolled over and fell. That was the end of the ride for her. The race was interrupted and medics treated the Slovakian star for a long time right on the slopes.

After that, they took her downstairs on a stretcher, where Vlhová greeted the home viewers with a wave. But she most likely has an injured leg, probably a knee, because her skis did not turn off when she fell. A helicopter was prepared in the area, which most likely took Vlhová to the hospital.

Thus, Vlhová will not be able to participate even in Sunday’s slalom in Jasná, which is her strongest discipline.

At the end of the first round, the Frenchwoman Haraová also had a serious accident, hitting an advertising banner holder. Like Vlhová, she ended up in the hands of nurses and had to go to the hospital.
