Success at the Tarancon Archery Club’s Traditional Ham Trophy 2024

Once again and like every year, the Tarancon archery club directed by José Maria Párraga invites numerous clubs to its traditional Ham Trophy in 2024.

On this occasion, approximately 40 archers from different clubs and towns would participate, such as Cuenca, Ávila, Aranjuez, Tomelloso, Colmenar Viejo, Ciempozuelos, etc…

Arcoclub las Lomas would participate with 2 of its archers, Alfredo Serrano with the Olympic recurve bow in the veteran category and Mari Jota, who had already recovered from her injury, played the match in the mixed category with her Longbow bow.

The morning was cool and in the unheated pavilion it was noticeable and took its toll on the archers who covered themselves as best they could.

Mari Jota finished the first half with a good score and improved it in the second half, finally qualifying in 3rd position. She standing on the podium with José Luis Moreno from Aranjuez and Alfonso García from Arqueros Ribereños.

Alfredo Serrano finished the first half with a weak score and far from the first places, however, in the second half he was much more accurate and ended up climbing to the box in 2nd position, sharing the podium with Ángel Burgos from Alcalá del Júcar and Vicente Morales from Valdemoro.

Between the two qualifying series, a succulent barbecue was enjoyed and greatly appreciated by everyone.

After the completion of the trophy presentation, the raffle was held for 2 hams and one of them went to Alfredo Serrano who began the year with fortune smiling on him.

Arcoclub Las Lomas will participate next weekend in the regional championships that will be held in Guadalajara.
