2.28pm – Capello, these Americans don’t respect people
“I think that these American companies work without respecting the people they collaborate with. We saw it at Milan with Maldini and today in Trigoria with Mourinho. There is no sensitivity on their part, but only business. I, however, think that respect is also needed, perhaps by agreeing first and separately and not with a press release and a phone call”. Interviewed by Sky Sport who asked him for a comment on José Mourinho’s dismissal, Fabio Capello is harsh with the American owners of Roma who today decided to dismiss the ‘Special One’. According to Capello, the last coach to win a championship with the capital’s Giallorossi (in 2001), “that something wasn’t working was clear from the fact that they didn’t respond to his requests. They treated him in the least respectful way and we’re talking about one of the most important coaches of history. It also happened to me in Russia (where he coached the national team), where they warned me at the airport.” But does Capello now want to give advice to the new Roma coach Daniele De Rossi? “A piece of advice? Then he was part of Italy’s coaching staff in the European Championship played in 2021 and ended with the Azzurri’s victory at Wembley on 11 July, before his experience as coach of Spal, in Serie B, last season where he was sacked by president Joe Tacopina after 17 games.

It’s an armored Trigoria that welcomed the news of José Mourinho’s dismissal this morning.
