The number of participants in the 19th edition of the Ragusa Marathon, Emiliano Ottaviano memorial, scheduled for Sunday is still growing.
There will be almost 1500 participants in the various initiatives that will characterize the event, from the actual marathon to the Family run via the StraRagusa and the Walking. Numbers that were reeled off during the presentation of the event in the Council room, in the presence of the mayor of Ragusa, Peppe Cassì, and the municipal councilor for Sport, Simone Digrandi, as well as the representatives of the Iblei territorial Uisp, the organizers and many other entities locals who are supporting the initiative.
The mayor explained how sporting events can act as a driving force for the tourism sector in a low season period and that we must increasingly focus on these events. The Sports Councilor supported the organizers and presented to the press the sporting events scheduled for the first six months of the course. The long-awaited appointment is scheduled for Sunday starting at 8 in via Feliciano Rossitto, next to the Enrico Fermi scientific high school. While arrivals will be in Ragusa Ibla starting from 10.30. An intermediate departure is planned from Piazza San Giovanni with the Family Run. For this last type of initiative, the invitation was addressed to all citizens so that they can participate to make the planned event even more festive. The organizers also inform that on Sunday 21 January from 8am to 2pm the streets affected by the passage of the athletes may be slowed down. It should be added that the Asd No to doping Ragusa with the Iblei territorial Uisp will take care of the technical-organisational part starting from tomorrow with guided tours of churches and palaces of Ragusa Ibla organized by the Novum 1693 cultural construction site association. There will be support, from the point of view of media promotion, of Clg Costruzioni srls, a construction company from Comiso, which has always been close to the planet of the Ragusa marathon. Upon arrival, the athletes will find the physiotherapists of the Ht clinic group taking care of the treatment of their muscles.
