Pradines Badminton Players Shine in January Competitions

Good results for the Pradinois badists.

The month of January is generally very busy with badminton competitions of all levels and this year is no exception. Many Pradines Badminton players have participated in local tournaments in Gourdon-Le Vigan, Biars Bretenoux, but also outside the limits of the department such as Villeneuve-Tolosane and Toulouse. The players shone, particularly this weekend with the victories in Biars for Paul Perrouault and Emma Baral (in the photo) in mixed doubles series 1, but also for Eric Molina and Bernard Maurel in men’s doubles. Eric and Bernard are among the most loyal licensees with more than 30 years of presence at the club. We can see that they are still very efficient.

This week saw the first meetings of the departmental interclub championship take place. 2 teams from departmental division 2 were in action.

The Pradines 5 team received their counterparts from Labastide-Murat at the Espère sports hall. No frills and clear victory for Pradines 6/0. Captain Alan Maruaé could be proud of his troops.

The Pradines 4 team was traveling to Montat. More difficult start but nevertheless encouraging and in the end defeat 4/2. Captain Rémi Florentin congratulated his teammates. No doubt they will do better next time.

The Pradines 3 teams (Division 2), led by Léa Mazel, as well as Pradines 2, which plays in departmental division 1, led by Valentin Vailles, will begin the championship the week of February 5 to 11.

The regional team is traveling to Pignan (34), in the suburbs of Montpellier, from this Saturday, January 27, in order to be at the gymnasium at 9 a.m. Sunday morning and compete in day 3 of the regional division 1 championship. The club has on Léo Préchac (captain) Fiona Préchac, Raphaël Rosales, Fanny Vogelweith, Valentin Rothan, Maya Lacombe and Baptiste Dajean to achieve a first victory there. Whether as a team or individually, the schedule is busy for Pradines Badminton.

> Smooth transition to the new EDF Cahors gymnasium: since the beginning of January, due to work at the Pradines sports hall, the club and Grand Cahors have transferred the club’s slots to the EDF gymnasium at Croix de Fer. Smooth transition but sometimes difficult given the club’s large numbers. Remember that the club has nearly 200 members including a youth school of 110 members, the transition from 7 fields in Pradines to 4 at the EDF gymnasium is penalizing. Slots and groups of up to 30 players must evolve where there are 16 places. Unfortunately, this is a blessing in disguise because the work on the Halle de Pradines was necessary.
