46th QAB Shiun Flag High School Judo Championship: Road to the Nippon Budokan

The QAB Shiun Flag High School Judo Championship was held again this year, with heated competitions aimed at the Nippon Budokan.

The day before yesterday at the Prefectural Budokan, the 46th QAB Shiunki High School Judo Championship was held this year. Approximately 40 male and female athletes from 10 schools, including those from remote islands, competed in a heated competition to demonstrate the results of their daily training. Our aim is to be on the national stage. The National High School Judo Championships, held in March at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, is considered one of the three major high school judo tournaments.

At this tournament, Sanshiro Yokota, who trained many judoka such as world championship silver medalist Ryu Shichinohe, will return to Naha West for the first time in 12 years, and will be returning to Okinawa’s We will be challenging Okinawa Shogaku, a leader in high school judo.

His opponent is Kenta Kohira of Okinawa Shogaku, who won the prefectural newcomer competition.

They both showed their fighting spirit, but in the end, Kodaira took advantage of a momentary gap and won with a Kouchigari. The winners of the individual competition and Okinawa Shogaku, who won the team competition, will participate in the National Judo Championships, which will begin on March 19th.
