Football: Nice coach robbed during Coupe de France match

Funny evening for Francesco Farioli and his loved ones… Saturday evening, while his Nice players painfully eliminated Auxerre in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France (0-0, 4-2 tab), the Riviera coach was the victim of burglary.

According to information from RMC Sport which we have confirmed, two individuals did indeed enter the Italian’s home but they were put to flight by members of his family. Shortly after 9 p.m., it was the director of the Nice club who alerted the police to this intrusion, which had been carried out without a break-in.

The young transalpine coach, 34, arrived this summer for two seasons on the Côte d’Azur after two coaching experiences in Turkey (Fatih Karagümrük then Alanyaspor).

Burglaries by players or staff members during their team’s matches are unfortunately common. PSG and OM, whose stars are often targeted, know something about this. The stars of major foreign clubs are not spared either.

Just before the transition to 2024, Jack Grealish, the Manchester City striker, was robbed while he faced Everton in the Premier League. His partner and other relatives were there.

“I can’t explain how devastated I am by the burglary that took place at my home a few days ago,” he explained on Instagram. My family means everything to me and nothing is more important than keeping them safe. The people who commit these terrible crimes have no idea of the damage they are causing to people’s lives. I hope they are found and brought to justice so that no other family has to go through what we went through. »
