Cometz de Metz Show Promise with Balanced Record After Three Trips

30

After three trips to start the season, the Cometz de Metz have a perfectly balanced record of 3-3. A good omen before the first match at home, Sunday May 5.

Traveling is not easy. Starting your season with three trips is even less so. Especially when it comes to challenging three strong D1 Baseball teams on their home field. However, before returning to their lair, the Cometz de Metz did the job. First in Montpellier, with a first success, and a defeat, on the home ground of the French champion. Last weekend, Shane Priest’s men traveled to La Rochelle, another area known to be hostile to the Messins. However, despite a heavy setback on Saturday April 20 (12-2), the Mosellans managed to achieve another victory on Sunday April 21 (4-6), to share the points.

This Sunday, against Savigny-sur-Orge, another team which counts in the ranking, the Cometz once again managed to return to Metz with a success in their bag. Beaten (13-2) during the first match of the day – big gaps in defeats which are perhaps the only downside at the start of the season – Shane Priest’s protégés went for another victory (2-3) at the end of the… eleventh round of the game! A new sharing of points, won mentally, which bodes well before the next meeting of the Cometz de Metz, Sunday May 5 (11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) against Sénart, at home.
