CRD – IPD Launches “Sports Summer 2024” Training Program in Moquegua and Ilo

The Regional Sports Council (CRD) – IPD begins the regional training program called “Sports Summer 2024” to be developed in Moquegua and Ilo.

Lic. Walter Salazar Coloma, head of the CRD, announced that strategic sports alliances were made and there are teachers for the different disciplines.

The academies start on January 8 from 8 in the morning, they will take place in the months of January and February. There are 10 disciplines that include basketball, volleyball, 7-a-side soccer, gymnastics, athletics, judo, boxing, taekwondo and folk dance. Also, soccer, athletics and handball.

“We plan to have approximately 3,000 to 4,000 children from 4 to 17 years old during the 2 months. For the safety of parents, there will be good infrastructure, good teachers and constant supervision,” he said.

There are 23 strategic allies, including clubs, academies and schools. The Gato Cuellar complex, Mariano Lino Urquieta Coliseum, Vegetales complex and 25 de Noviembre stadium in Moquegua will be used; in Ilo, the Mariscal Nieto stadium, for which maintenance is being done.

Among the objectives is to train children to have talents for a future in different disciplines.
