For the first time in the last three years, Atlanta Braves star pitcher Max Fried avoided salary arbitration with a one-year, $15 million contract, according to an MLB.com source.

Fied finished the 2020 Major League Baseball (MLB) Season fifth in voting for the National League Cy Young Award and rose to second place two years later.

Unfortunately for the 29-year-old left-hander, complications came in 2023 with inflammation in his left forearm that limited him to 14 starts in the regular schedule.

As for salary during his salary arbitration-eligible years, Fried received $3.5 million in 2021, $6.5 million in 2022 and $13.5 million in 2023.

It was this Thursday, January 11 at 1 pm ET when the 30 Major League organizations had the limit to reach an agreement with their arbitration-eligible players.
