Arthur Vermeeren announced a few days ago that he will probably leave Antwerp in 2024.
The greatest chance is that this will happen next summer, although he could possibly leave in the winter. This can happen if a crazy offer is put on the table, but also if a rental option is linked to the transfer until the end of the season. This way, Arthur could still finish the season at Antwerp.
Vermeeren himself has attached a condition to a transfer. He wants to go to a team where it is certain that he will get enough playing time. Clubs such as FC Barcelona and Manchester United therefore do not seem ideal, although he certainly has the qualities to play there with the first team.
A team where that chance is much greater is Brighton & Hove Albion. According to Trossard’s ex-club The Daily Mail force a transfer this winter. There would be no rental option attached to the deal, but what could convince Vermeeren is that he will certainly play enough at Brighton. Waiting to see if an offer that cannot be refused comes along…
