Adam Ottavino agrees with the Mets for one year

Adam Ottavino agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million deal to return to the Mets, according to the New York Post. The Mets have not confirmed the contract, which would be pending a physical examination.

Earlier this offseason, Ottavino declined an option on his contract worth $6.5 million to return to the Mets, hoping to find a multi-year deal on the open market. When that didn’t happen, the right-hander decided to return to Queens for a smaller amount.
