The Zagalandia fair will celebrate its 33rd edition in Barbastro (Huesca) from December 26 to 29 in three settings: the Auditorium of the Congress Center, the Ángel Orús Pavilion and the Multipurpose Space of the Congress Center.
In 2023, the leisure, culture, sports and free time fair reaches its 33rd edition and will be held from December 26 to 29. It was presented by the mayor, Fernando Torres, and the Councilor for Culture, Pilar Abad. Lydia Solans, author of this year’s poster, and the municipal Youth technician were also present at the event.
As in previous editions, the Ángel Orús Pavilion hosts the activities of Zagalandia Sports, which include an adventure area with a zip line, inflatable sweeper, inflatable climbing and a bouldering area, perfect for introducing the youngest ones, at low altitude and without risks. of the city on the climb.
The Zagalandia Sports offer is completed with sports activities such as 3×3 futsal, Datchball, fly fishing, volleyball, judo, athletics, chess and badminton.
The Enroque Chess Association, the Aragonese Datchball Federation, the Hunting and Fishing Association, the SMA Volleyball, the Barbastro Judo Club, the Peña Pómez, the Peña 3×3 UBB and the Barbastro Badminton Club collaborate in these activities.
“A program of recreational sports activities has been designed as broad as possible so that everyone can find what satisfies them most,” explained the Youth Councilor, Pilar Abad.
As for the Multipurpose Space of the Congress Center, this year it hosts five activity spaces. The first of them is the Corner for the little ones (0-3 years old) and, in it, there will be, Pilar Abad indicated, “games for the little ones to exploit their sensory and motor development capacities.”
There will also be a space so that anyone who wishes can take a photo with Bing and Luigi, from Mario Bros. The second space, the Children’s Inflatable Park, will include three attractions: a feudal castle for children from 3 to 5 years old, a multi-obstacle inflatable for children between 6 and 10 and a mechanical bull for children of the same age.
Also and again, a creative space is enabled in which entities such as Manos Unidas, the Hunting and Fishing Association, Valentia, the Coordinating Board of Holy Week Brotherhoods, the Aragón Volunteer Platform, the San Joaquçín Neighborhood, the Cruz Local Assembly Roja, Alzheimer Barbastro y Somontano, Cepaim Foundation, Agustín Serrate Foundation, the Municipal Council for Childhood and Adolescence, the Association Against Cancer, the Barmon de Cáritas Addiction Prevention Program, the Entrearcos Club, the San Fermín Neighborhood and the Kickboxing School Barbastro.
In the fourth space, Rediscover, games from the now almost disappeared arcades will be enabled, such as classic foosball, Pinball machines and different Arcade machines. The venue is completed with the outdoor area, where security forces and bodies will display their equipment and mobile media.
THEATER
The theater will also be the protagonist during Zagalandia 2023 and, thus, on the 26th, Teatre al Detall will present the play Tragasueños and on the 27th Yarleku will present the play The Smallest House.
On the 28th, Zazurca Escénicas presents The Enchanted Library and on the 29th, Almozandia arrives with The Nutcracker and the King of Cats. All works are held at 4:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Congress and Exhibition Center and admission is free.
Fernando Torres has encouraged all families to take advantage of a fair that is a classic of Barbados Christmas and in which fathers, mothers, grandparents and children can find common spaces for enjoyment.
“You have to be there, Zagalandia was the first fair of its kind in the province and it is a reference that unites generations, because those who experienced it in their first years as children live it now as parents.” Lydia Solans, the author of this year’s poster, recalled how she herself experienced it during her childhood: “designing the poster is an honor and I have tried to ensure that all the activities are present.”
